I teach on a Professional Therapeutic Massage Diploma course organised by the Scottish School of Herbal Medicine and accredited by ITEC (International Therapy Examination Council). This runs over 9 months from October to June each year.

My Own Classes

For 24 years I have run six evening introductory classes to teach people the rudiments of Massage. These are very much 'hands-on' where I demonstrate how to massage a different part of the body each week ie head & neck; back; back of legs; arms & hands; front of legs & feet and so on. Participants then pair off and practice on one another, so that by the end of the class you are able to give a basic massage to family and friends. There is no exam to sit or diploma given out as I feel our culture is too exam oriented, too often things are done for a future purpose rather than enjoyed for themselves. However numeous people have gone on to take diploma courses in Massage after dipping their toes in the subject in my classes.

I don't know exactly how many people have taken my classes over the years but it must be over 2000.

Next class starts Tuesday March 4th running for 6 weeks.
